Compatibility with 64-bit Outlook
Outlook, versions 2000 and above, are available in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. The LeadMaster add-ins for Outlook are incompatible with the 64-bit versions of Outlook.
To see your version of Outlook
- launch the program
- click on the File Menu in the upper left hand corner
- click on the Help Menu on the left and in the box on the right hand side of the help screen you'll see either (32-bit) or (64-bit).
- Depending upon your version of Outlook the steps / screen may be slightly different. Below is the image for Outlook 2010.
In the event you'd like to change from 64-bit Outlook to 32-bit Outlook so that you can use the LeadMaster add-ins, you'll need to remove the add-ins and reinstall. Here's the procedure for removing the add-ins.
1. Copy this zip file x64_uninstall_workaround.zip to your local disk
2. Extract x64_uninstall_workaround.reg
3. Right-click the .reg file and select Merge
4. Windows 7 will raise a User Account Control prompt – answer Yes
5. Then Registry Editor will pop up a warning about adding information to the registry – click Yes again
6. Click OK to the confirmation dialog from Registry Editor
Once that’s done there will be two dummy entries in the registry that will convince the two install programs that Outlook is there so they can be uninstalled.
That’s it – there’s no need to remove the dummy registry entries because they won’t do anything.
You'll need to follow the Microsoft instructions for changing from the 64-bit version to the 32-bit version. You'll find additional information on the Microsoft site.
Once that is complete, you can re-install the LeadMaster add-ins and everything should work fine.
